Life After Death ???

Recently I came across a book written by Conan Doyle, in 1981 called,” The New Revelation “. The book is all about his views on spiritualism and psychic phenomena. I found it to be an interesting read.

There is life after death, has been much talked  about topic since centuries. People throughout time have talked about angels, spirits, ghost entities and communications from beyond. We have heard a lot of stories on reincarnation, many of young children who wouldn't  have had any access or the understanding to either imaging or produce on their own of the tales they tell.

More and more often, with the help if the modern medication and medical equipment, the occurrence of near death experiences are brought out in open.

I agree that not all believe in life after death, but statistics have indicated that approximately 80% of the world’s population believe in life after death, they believe that we have a soul and that is continues to exist even after our physical death, that there is heaven and there is hell, and there is some creator who we call god who watches over our acts. Now our of 20% left  , few or say about half are sitting on the fence who have yet not made up their mind and are not sure what to believe and what not to. The rest left are the ones who need to be convinced and shown proof.

There are too many questions at hand, yes there’s too much of evidence that indicates that there is more to existence of life than our physical senses can comprehend.

What we  have to think about is , has anyone shown us absolute proof that once you die, that’s it, game over, nothing more exists?  Whereas, there are thousands and thousands thoroughly investigated and documented cases point to the fact that there is something beyond the material experiences of our physical realm.

Years back there was  a program aired on a  TV channel, which had gained a lot of popularity , ( Raaz Pichcale Janam Ka ) , I always wondered if such things really could happen , at present there is another TV show which is gaining a lot of attention , ( Fear Files ..) also makes me ponder over the whole thing yet again.

Is there life after death?  What do you believe in?

I honestly would not deny I am among the few who are sitting on the fence thinking what to believe and what not too!!!!!

Two Choices For This Year !!

I had to visit the  Indian embassy  for some work , as I was a bit early I walked towards the coffee joint next to it as there was no point standing in the front of the gate which was to open only after 40 mins. I wondered why I had to come so early. The morning weather is now a bit pleasant so I kept my complaining on the side and ordered myself a cup of coffee. With nothing to do till the guy got me the order, I was looking around the birds and enjoying the weather.( obviously goes without saying checking my fib , whattss app account every min !!! !! ).

Suddenly ,  I heard  the lady sitting a few tables away from mine asking her friend  “ what are the two things you are going to do to make your this year wonderful “? It was an interesting thing to ponder on, I thought as well!!! (I had something to do while sipping my coffee and awaiting the embassy doors to open!!).

What were the two choices which I would pick up to make this year wonderful?  I definitely had some on my list and yes there were quiet simple in concepts as well, yet not easy to do...they obviously were not the things we do on outside, like exercising, quit few bad habits, but they were ways of my thinking and being on the inside. They were more to do with my attitude and my intent. The two most important things in my life of sole concern were Gratitude and Attitude. I am sure we all live our life with these two values.

I believe most successful and the happiest people in the world are those of consistently live their lives with an attitude of gratitude. The concept of seeing the glass half full instead of cursing it to be half empty.
Theory difficult to practice but not impossible either. We come across a lot of people of same kind; doing the same thing yet there is difference in their approach towards life. Few see their life to be filled with joy and success, while few always seem to be in the turmoil?.

Life is not a hunky dory ride all the time there are ups and downs, but it’s all about perception and how you deal with it matters!! (I know it as well!! but can’t practice it all the time!!).

That’s the reason, I felt that yes, what needs to change is the perception. We need to feel upbeat about things, try and find the good part in everything.

When god has given us the free will to choose our intentions, to choose what the most important thing to us is in any given point, why not use it? What we choose is totally on us and in that process what either we learn to what is most important to ourselves and to others and or to protect against pain, rejection and failures with controlling our behavior.

Whatever it is, in the end the intent to learn or protect determines our experience in any given moment.

Either we embraces life’s challenges from a solid knowing that it’s a journey of the soul , a journey of learning , learning to be the most loving person. Rather than shying away from conflict to face it and accept it as an opportunity to learn something new in life. Taking responsibility of our own feelings and behavior or on the other hand we just lock ourselves into the earthly journey of control. Instead of learning from conflicts, we avoid it and just get upset over the outcome of it. we can just numb ourselves to other things , rather than taking responsibility of our feelings and behavior end result would leads us to nothing else but depression and anxiety.

I believe whatever circumstances in life, choosing gratitude and intent, as opposed to complaining and intent to protect makes all the difference.

For me, to make this year best year of my life, the choice would be gratitude and intent to learn.

‘’’ What’s yours???

From Perfection - To Discovery !!!!

We all have heard about a lovely word – Discovery!

We all are aware of its meaning – trying to know something – which up to know was unknown.  Last week, I finished reading a book, “The Magic of the Conflict “by Thomas Crum. Since then the whole meaning to this word changed for me, which till then meant the same as it meant to rest of the world.

The word since then has become one of my favorite; it has changed the way I think in the most difficult times. The author of the book has described the word as a magical, which influences a person to move beyond the fight, beyond the success to open the dominion of possibility.

It has made me believe that when we are in the mode of discovery we are spontaneous, fascinated, anxious, and most important appreciative of life in all its diversities. It not only excites your brain, but conjures lost treasures.

We are always in the race of finding things which are of any benefit to us, things which are going to be on any importance to us. But have we tried to ever discover eachother as humans? Ever tried to learn what is new and important in our next door neighbors, our family members, our friends or colleagues.  Tried to discover things and emotions which are lost in the daily rut.

The word which we are more familiar to is the exact opposite of the word Discovery, which is “Perfection “. We all relate to this word immensely. In perfection things have to be always right, we cannot ever go wrong; we have to look good, we have get good grades. At all points in our life, our standards are too high, where failure has no chance to walk in, and is avoided at all times.

We have to prevail in the world, though we have to put our most dear relations at stake, we are taught since we are child, that we have to fight back when attacked. Just manipulate and diminish to survive right up there.

Isn’t it time to shift gears and let go of perfection and turn to discovery mode. Where mistakes are considered as outcomes and conflicts, are opportunities. Where we get chance learn more about the other person, his ideas, and his feelings.

We shift into discovery mode not with judgment but with awareness. Where we are no more scared of failure, but only learn from experiences and awareness.

I am sure we all have experienced moments of discovery at some point in our lives, where we have tried to break through to a new learning and understanding. It’s a powerful place, I would want to revisit, and the challenge is that we have to choose to go there on purpose.

“I have not failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work “– Thomas Edison.  The quotation is a classic example of discovery.

Shifting from perfection to discovery is the way of life. Try it. Discover yourself.
